## Documentation content

When you start with DataRobot, it is a straightforward path from zero to a deployed agent. Trial users are presented an onboarding page that offers two paths, but non-trial users have access to the same options:

Both paths deploy to the same production runtime, so you can choose the one that fits how you like to work.

| Path | Best for | What you do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Build in the platform | The fastest start, with nothing to install. | Build your first agent entirely in the browser using built-in codespaces. |
| Build in your IDE | Work in your own tools, such as Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, or Gemini CLI. | Set up your local environment, install DataRobot agentic skills, and build on your own machine. You don't need to paste an API key—Agent Assist walks you through deploying to production when you're ready. |
