## Documentation content

The documentation available from within the application will be removed, with the execution date-dependent on whether you are a SaaS or self-managed user (see below). Instead of in-app docs, users will be pointed from the application to the public docs portal. The portal, launched in August 2021, provides a better user experience, including:

- An improved search experience.
- The ability for DataRobot to provide updates and corrections immediately instead of waiting for the weekly application deployment.
- The public site provides quick answers from anywhere (no login needed).
- The public site allows you to share links with non-DataRobot users.

There is no action required unless you have bookmarks to in-app documentation.

> [!NOTE] Note
> This change will not impact the model documentation accessed from the [model blueprint](https://docs.datarobot.com/en/docs/api/reference/public-api/blueprints.html) ( `/model-docs`) or the [Python](https://datarobot-public-api-client.readthedocs-hosted.com/en/latest-release/) or [R](https://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/datarobot/datarobot.pdf) client documentation available from `ReadTheDocs` and `CRAN`, respectively.

**Managed AI Platform (SaaS):**
As of December 19, 2023, in-app documentation available from `app.datarobot.com/docs` will be removed from the product. Links in the application will instead point to the [public documentation site](https://docs.datarobot.com/). There is no action required unless you have bookmarks to in-app documentation.

**Self-Managed AI Platform:**
For self-managed (on-premise) users, there will be a version-specific public docs portal made available when the removal goes into effect (e.g., `https://9p2.docs.datarobot.com/`). The default self-managed installation configuration will point to this portal. For air-gapped installations:

If you have access to the Internet, DataRobot will provide your IT department the domain to add to the accepted list.
For the small subset of users who do not have Internet access, DataRobot will provide a local version of the docs portal as part of DataRobot installation, and documentation will be accessible via in-app URLs. Note that in this configuration search will not be available as it is provided via a Cloud-based tool.
