## Documentation content

After you register a [DataRobot](https://docs.datarobot.com/en/docs/workbench/nxt-registry/nxt-model-directory/nxt-register-dr-models.html) or [custom](https://docs.datarobot.com/en/docs/workbench/nxt-registry/nxt-model-directory/nxt-register-cus-models.html) model, you can generate automated compliance documentation. Compliance documentation provides evidence that the components of the model work as intended, the model is appropriate for its intended business purpose, and the model is conceptually sound. This individualized model documentation is especially important for highly regulated industries. For the banking industry, for example, the report can help complete the Federal Reserve System's [SR 11-7: Guidance on Model Risk Management](https://www.federalreserve.gov/supervisionreg/srletters/sr1107.htm). After you generate the compliance documentation, you can view it or download it as a Microsoft Word (DOCX) file and edit it further. You can also create [specialized templates](https://docs.datarobot.com/en/docs/classic-ui/modeling/analyze-models/compliance-classic/template-builder.html) for your organization.

> [!NOTE] Compliance documentation sharing
> When registered models are shared with another user, if the user has compliance documentation enabled, the compliance documentation generated for that model is also shared. In addition, to access the compliance documentation generated for a text generation model, the user must have generative AI experimentation enabled.

Compliance documentation compatibilityYou can generate compliance documentation for DataRobot models and some custom models, including text generation modelsexported from the playgroundorassembled in Registry. Compliance documentation is not available for external models or custom global models. Custom templates (from thetemplate builder) for text generation models do not support time series or non-time series models, only text generation models.
2. In the list of versions, click the version you want to generate compliance documentation for, opening the registered model version panel. Then, click theDocumentstab. ## Complete compliance documentation

After you have generated the model compliance report, click Download and save the `.docx` file to your system. Open the file to review and complete the document. Areas of blue italic text are intended as guidance and instruction. They identify who should complete the section and provide detail of the required information.

Areas of regular text are DataRobot's automatically generated model compliance text—preprocessing, performance, impact, task-specific, and DataRobot general information.
