## Documentation content

Agentic tools are registered in Registry so that they can be easily listed and called by agents, granting them access to the DataRobot API.

To register a tool, navigate to the Registry and click + Register tool in the Tools tab:

A tool is a registered model that is exposed as an agentic tool.
Therefore, refer to the [Register a model](https://docs.datarobot.com/en/docs/workbench/registry/model-directory/register-dr-models.html.md) page to configure the tool.
When making your configuration, add a `tool` tag to the Model tags field.
This can be done by clicking `Tool` in the Suggested tags field:

When all configuration is complete, click Register model.
The model version opens on the Registry > Models page with a Building status. You can [deploy the model](https://docs.datarobot.com/en/docs/workbench/registry/model-directory/deploy-models.html.md) at any time.

## Next steps

After registering a tool, manage it alongside your organization's other tools or deploy it for use by agents.

- View and manage tools : Search, filter, share, and manage the tools registered to your organization.
- Deploy models from Registry : Deploy the registered tool version so it can be called by agentic workflows.
- Register DataRobot models : Review the model registration workflow referenced when configuring a tool.
