An artifact can reference a container image you already built ( `imageUri`), or it can build one from your source code by setting `imageBuildConfig` on a container instead—often called code to Workload —so the same platform-managed process produces every image, with no local `docker build` or registry push in between. This section covers that path end to end: pointing an artifact at your code, triggering and tracking the build, reading its logs, and a full worked example.

> Every page in this section assumes an artifact with `imageBuildConfig` and a `codeRef`. If your artifact references a pre-built image with `imageUri`, there's nothing here to configure or troubleshoot.
