> Prometheus Pushgateway support for Kubernetes Availability Monitor (Kavmon) metrics export will be retired in January 2027. Plan to migrate to OpenTelemetry before this date.

Kavmon is the only DataRobot service that publishes metrics via a Prometheus Pushgateway deployment. DataRobot now supports exporting Kavmon metrics through [OpenTelemetry (OTEL)](https://docs.datarobot.com/ja/docs/install/monitoring/observability/observability_otel_main.html) when telemetry is enabled for the DataRobot namespace. OTEL is the recommended export method going forward.

## Who is impacted

This deprecation affects Self-Managed AI Platform deployments who configured Kavmon to push metrics to a Prometheus Pushgateway using the `AM_PROMETHEUS_URL` environment variable.

## Migration guidance

1. Enable and configure OpenTelemetry for your DataRobot cluster using the datarobot-observability-coresubchart .
2. Remove the AM_PROMETHEUS_URL and AM_PUSHGATEWAY_LABELS environment variables from your Kavmon configuration after OTEL export is verified.
3. Decommission the Prometheus Pushgateway deployment after confirming metrics flow through OTEL.
