Trial FAQ

What is DataRobot’s self-service SaaS trial?

DataRobot’s Self-Service SaaS trial, or “Trial,” is a one-time, 14-day free trial that allows organizations to fully explore the platform’s enhanced capabilities and fully test functionality in AI/ML/GenAI projects without any financial commitment. Through self-service SaaS, users can sign up with an email and password, or with a social login such as Google or GitHub. They can then manage their organization and users and run workloads—all without needing to speak to a DataRobot representative. The trial is based on 14 calendar days, which begins the day you register.

Does the trial offer full DataRobot functionality?

Yes, you will have access to the full power of the platform with both NextGen and DataRobot Classic interfaces. Each account is assigned a specific number of modeling workers, and those workers are shared by all users in the account. Trial users are provided access to batch predictions only and have trial-specific access to the generative AI functionality, described below.

Can I explore the GenAI functionality?

Yes! Trial users have full access to creating vector databases and playgrounds, although use is capped at 15 vector databases and 1000 LLM calls. See the full list of considerations and LLMs, embeddings, and file types here.

Can I use App Templates?

Yes! Because you have full access to the platform, you can access the gallery of DataRobot application templates, which offer repeatable use-case logic and customizable components, making it easy to quickly adapt AI solutions without needing to start from scratch. The templates you create can be shared both within and outside of your DataRobot organization (described below). These templates help surface and inspire ideas and provide a shortcut to AI success.

Can Trial users collaborate with teammates?

Yes. You can invite colleagues to join your trial account. Once colleagues have accepted the invite, they become part of your DataRobot organization. You can then share Use Cases, datasets, and other assets through all of the traditional sharing methods. Additionally, you can create No-Code applications and share the app with users both within and outside of your DataRobot organization through an app-specific sharing link.

To invite colleagues to join your organization, from your user profile select Users in the dropdown:

On the Users tab of the resulting page, click Invite colleagues and provide an email address in the modal:

Can Trial users share with teammates outside their organization?

With the exception of the output from our three application-building options, Trial users can only share assets within their DataRobot organization, not across organizations. If a user joins under a different organization, even if they are teammates from the same company, they cannot share non-app Use Case assets. Within an organization, you can invite and share with up to 5 team members.

How do trial users get product support?

For product support, reach out to support@datarobot.com. You can find quick access from the question mark dropdown in the upper right of the app to send a quick Support email, access the documentation, or launch the YouTube channel.

Can I use both the code and no-code interface?

Yes, you can log into the app via web browser and work with the GUI or access it programmatically, with the REST API or Python client packages. You are not locked into a single choice, meaning you have the flexibly to switch between code and GUI at any time. This also allows you to collaborate with other users who are working with a different option. And when using code, you can use any development environment of your choice.

What if I want to continue after the 14 days have passed?

After the 14-day trial has ended, you can reach out to Sales to upgrade your account.

What happens to my data after the trial expires?

If you do not contact Sales after the 14-day trial period, DataRobot permanently deletes all your data and assets 30 days after expiration.
